Thanks so much for your thoughts, Alison! Even though I’m “old school” about a lot of things, I’m grateful to be able to text and Skype to keep in touch with those away from home, since like you said, they are grown and we don’t see them after school! Also, I think anything with peanut butter makes any day seem better!

We love the neighborhood BBQ as well.
We have to have peanut butter fingers and milk on the first day of school ready for when the kids come home and tell about their day. (We now do the peanut butter fingers on Sunday night before school starts since all the kids don’t come home after school now.) My main favorite thing about back to school is the Father’s blessing each of the kids get the night before school starts. It is one of my favorite evenings of the year, as they receive blessings and encouragement through the priesthood specific to their needs. It is a sacred time.
